Our Story
For nearly a century, Meadow Creek has been a place where people gather, retreat, and reconnect with one another. What began as a mountain homestead evolved into an inn and bed-and-breakfast, and today is a destination for weddings, celebrations, and weekends shared with close friends and family.
A Century at Meadow Creek 1927
The Homestead
The first homestead patent was granted in 1927, and a modest 10-by-10 log cabin was built on the property. At the time, Pine was a rugged mountain community connected by logging roads, ranchland, and small settlements.
That original cabin still stands today as a reminder of the property's earliest beginnings.
1931
A Mountain Ranch Takes Shape
In 1931, Italian Prince Balthasar Gialma Odescalchi and his wife, Denver native Elaine Wilcox, purchased the property and transformed the homestead into a private mountain ranch.
Together they constructed the stone lodge and many of the supporting buildings that remain today. Using locally quarried granite from the property and regional timber, they created a retreat that felt deeply connected to the surrounding landscape.
Nearly a century later, the craftsmanship and materials continue to define Meadow Creek's character.

Generations at Meadow Creek
For nearly forty years, Meadow Creek was home to the Douglass family. Generations of family members spent their summers here, gathering around the lodge, exploring the surrounding hills, and creating traditions that would endure for decades.
During these years, Meadow Creek was not a destination or event venue. It was a family home, cared for and enjoyed across multiple generations.
The property's connection to the family remains visible today in the surrounding Douglass Ranch neighborhood, a lasting reminder of their role in the area's history.
1987
Opening its Doors
A new chapter began when Meadow Creek was thoughtfully converted into an inn and bed-and-breakfast. Guest accommodations were added and updated while preserving the character of the original structures. The transition allowed visitors to experience the property for themselves while ensuring the lodge and its historic buildings remained active and cared for.
2014
Making More Room to Gather
As Meadow Creek's reputation grew, so did the need for gathering space.
The addition of the event center created room for weddings, celebrations, and special events while preserving the historic lodge at the heart of the property. With capacity for up to 100 guests, Meadow Creek evolved once again without losing the character that made it special.
2021
A New Chapter
Meadow Creek was purchased by Dallas-based advertising partners, Kent Johnson and Chris Sekin.
Originally acquired as a retreat destination for their team and clients, the property quickly became something more. Recognizing the significance of the lodge and its history, they committed to preserving Meadow Creek while sharing it with others.
Today, the property welcomes wedding couples, families, corporate retreats, and travelers seeking a quieter connection to Colorado.
Preservation & StewardshipWe believe places like Meadow Creek are worth caring for. Our role is not to reinvent the property, but to preserve its history, maintain its buildings, and ensure future generations can continue gathering here.
